Choi Dong-hoon's much anticipated period action-thriller Assassination wrapped its shoot on January 31st in Paju, Korea, after having begun in Shanghai back on August 27th last year.
Assassination assembled another killer cast for director, including his The Thieves (2012) stars Jeon Ji-hyeon (Gianna Jun), Lee Jung-jae and Oh Dal-su, as well as Ha Jung-woo (The Yellow Sea, 2010), Cho Jin-woong (A Hard Day) and Lee Kyoung-young (26 Years, 2012) while the story features a group of Korean assassins and agents seeking to take out a pro-Japanese group in the 1930s.
The production has also released its first still, a atmospheric nighttime shot of a slick Ha Jung-woo in action. Look below for a full version of the shot.
With its great cast, cool period setting and the assured presence of Choi behind the camera, Assassination looks to be one of this summer's hottest films. To find out about more big films coming in 2015, check out our feature on the 23 Most Anticipated Korean Films of 2015.
